A hutong is an alleyway or lane. The hutongs of Beijing are one of its most distinctive features. Many of Beijing's ancient hutongs still stand today, and several have been designated protected areas. The old neighborhoods that survive offer a glimpse of life in the city as it was generations ago.

The Summer Palace consists of the Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake, with over 3,000 palaces, halls, pavilions and corridors in different types of architecture. It used to be the imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty.
The Great Wall, with a history of more than 2,000 years, is one of the architectural wonders in the world. It starts in the east at Shanhaiguan, crosses the rugged mountain ranges of Hebei Province, Beijing, Shanxi Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Shaanxi Province and ends up at the Jiayuguan Pass in Gansu Province. Many foreign travelers who come to China are eager to climb the Great Wall. Many of them love the Chinese old saying that “Those who have never been to the Great Wall will never be heroes.”
