Located 28 km northwest of downtown Beijing, Fragrant Hills Park is just what its name indicates: sweet smelling with picturesque natural scenery. The best time to visit the park is in autumn (September–October), when the hills are alight with red leaves in a multitude of shades. The annual Red Leaf Festival attracts crowds of visitors from around the world.
