Explanation

When you call on someone but find the door closed, or you are not welcomed, this is called chi bi men geng.

Ex.

A: I went to visit you yesterday but there's nobody home.

B: At what time?

A: Two o'clock in the afternoon.

B: We went fishing yesterday afternoon.

Explanation

This is used as a metaphor for the feeling of jealousy, especially between the opposite sex. When people see his girl (or her boy) friend is having fun intimately with another boy (girl), a strong feeling will arise as swallowing down a big bowl of vinegar. That is "jealous" in a formal term.
